Council schedules public hearing on two ordinances, including increase in class 5 cannabis retail licenses

The Lower Township Clerk announced the first reading of two ordinances and said the council scheduled the second reading and public hearing for August 3, 2026.
Ordinance 2026-15 would amend chapter 400 (land development) and chapter 432 (mercantile licenses) to "increase the maximum number of Class 5 cannabis retail licenses from 2 to 3," the Clerk said. Ordinance 2026-14 pertains to chapter 7 (traffic) general provisions of the township code. The Clerk also listed approval of minutes from 07/06/2026 and resolutions numbered 2026-250 through 2026-263.
No public comment was offered on the items at the consent portion of the meeting and the consent agenda moved forward by motion. The council will consider the ordinances at a public hearing on 2026-08-03, when members of the public may comment further.
