Superintendent Gerrett Spears reported that the recent athletics tournament went well and that concession and tournament funds are held in a designated activity sub-account intended for future expenditures such as field trips and library rewards.
The board approved moving $2,700 from sub-account 802 (athletics) to sub-account 812 (tournament) on a motion by Terry Graham, seconded by April Kisling; vote 5–0. Spears noted the activity sub-account currently has a healthy balance to ensure expenditures for next year.
Spears also explained that upper elementary students have four track meets while 4th graders will attend only two—local meet and Cherokee JMR meet—because the Cherokee and Covington meets are particularly competitive and well attended.
