At the July 8 meeting the board approved a set of agreements and contracts: MOUs with the Madison County Sheriff Department and the Canton Police Department to provide security coverage for the 2025–26 school year; an MOU with Holmes Community College for dual enrollment; a contract with Region 8 Mental Health Services to provide mental-health and educational support services for 2025–26; and agreements with Butler Snow and Lemoine concerning the 2025 Certificate of Participation funding for construction projects (Exhibits 10.1–10.6).
The motion to approve items 10.1–10.6 was made by Mr. Glen Lacey and seconded by Mr. Peter Brown. The motion passed but recorded one dissenting vote: Mr. Lenderrick Taylor voted Nay while the other trustees voted Aye. The minutes do not state the reason for the Nay vote, nor do they record any amendments to the MOUs or contracts in open session.
