City hires auditor for FY2023–24; engineering report puts Northside Hotel infrastructure at about $3.5 million

The council approved an agreement with Ralph Osborn, CPA, to perform the Fiscal Year 2023–2024 city audit for $6,000. City Attorney Beth Anne Childs said Mr. Osborn has served the city for a long time and that, while some municipalities rotate auditors, it is late in the season to solicit new bids; an RFP could be issued in January if the council chooses.
Childs also relayed a report from Guy Engineering estimating Bristow's required infrastructure for the proposed Northside Hotel at around $3.5 million, with the bulk of the cost attributable to stormwater detention. She announced a Sept. 5, 2024 meeting at the Creek County offices in Sapulpa to discuss the project; the council took no action on agenda item #16. Council additionally authorized the City Attorney to obtain an appraisal and consider purchasing a lot at 519 West 12th because of a sewer lateral and creek-bed location.
