Library reports 500+ summer reading attendees; council proclaims Silver Threads Assisted Living's 25th anniversary

Library Director Tara Engel told the council the summer reading program concluded with more than 500 participants across 21 events; the final event had 44 participants and included temporary tattoos from 183 INK. Engel said she is closing out the Pilcro Grant and completing related state paperwork.
Council also approved a proclamation congratulating Silver Threads Assisted Living on its 25th anniversary; ceremonies are scheduled for Sept. 7, 2025. The proclamation was approved by motion of Kristi Drey and seconded by Laura Petersen, carried on a unanimous voice vote.
Chamber Director Jaimie Braun also reported tornado damage to the Gregory sign at the North Star corner and described recent community outreach work including a new community calendar and commercial.
