Councilperson Ashley Lozano moved to authorize the work; Councilperson Kristi Drey seconded the motion, and it carried on a unanimous voice vote.
Council members discussed completing an extra block of 1st Street to avoid a partially finished stretch between this year’s project and a planned Phase I follow‑up; the council agreed to include that extra block in milling and resurfacing plans. The additional concrete and drainage work will increase the Phase I scope and budget by the stated amount; the council did not specify further funding adjustments during the meeting.
