Chief Pernice presented the civil service certified list containing two candidates and asked for permission to conduct background checks and to hire two part‑time officers. Council approved completing background checks for two part‑time officers from the certified list (motion by Councilor Joyce, seconded by Councilor Steadman). After an executive session later in the evening, council also approved a police contract for Zackery Shelly (motion by Councilor Steadman, seconded by Councilor Kerns).
