Leavenworth County 4‑H members invite commissioners to county fair

Young members of the Leavenworth County 4‑H program told commissioners how 4‑H projects teach responsibility, leadership and practical skills and invited the board to the Leavenworth County Fair.
"4‑H has given us opportunities to learn things that go far beyond school," said 11‑year‑old Jace Green, who described a goat project and woodworking experience and encouraged the commissioners to attend exhibits July 28 through Aug. 1.
Commissioners thanked the children for speaking and acknowledged the role of volunteers, families and the county extension in supporting youth programming.
