Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, the Saltville Town Council voted to enter closed session on April 22, 2025 for two purposes: 1) consideration of the acquisition of real property for a public purpose or disposition of publicly held real property where open discussion would adversely affect the public body's negotiating position (Va. Code §2.2-3711(A)(3)); and 2) consultation with legal counsel regarding specific legal matters requiring such advice (Va. Code §2.2-3711(A)(8)). The motion to enter closed session was moved and seconded and approved by roll call.
After a brief recess, the council reconvened in open session, each member certified by roll call that the closed meeting had covered only the matters identified in the motion and was lawful under FOIA provisions. The meeting record shows the roll-call certification by all members and Mayor Cheri Fullen declared the meeting adjourned.
