The Saltville Town Council announced at a brief special called meeting April 15 that it will appoint a replacement for a vacant council seat at its next meeting, set for April 22, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Cheri H. Fullen told the council the person selected will serve until Dec. 31, 2025.
Mayor Fullen read four letters of interest aloud in alphabetical order: David C. Buchanan Jr., Steve Heninger, Payton Lynch and James Tolliver. Tammy M. Woodward, deputy clerk‑treasurer, called the roll at the start of the meeting and recorded council members and staff present: Suzanne Abramson, Eugene Call, Ryan Comer, R.B. Henderson and Cary Sauls; Town Manager Cecile Rosenbaum and Chief of Police Bryan Lynch were listed as staff.
The council did not take a formal vote at the April 15 session. Council members will review the candidates' letters of interest before the April 22 meeting, at which the appointment will be made. Mayor Fullen then declared the special called meeting adjourned.
The council's next meeting is scheduled for April 22, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., when members will make the appointment and announce the term start and any procedural details related to seating the new member.
