Town Manager Cecile Rosenbaum listed $35,000 to cover a spare submersible pump for Cardwell Town and $30,000 for tank maintenance; the draft also includes a backhoe request and funding for multiple mowers for the Streets & Roads division.
Rosenbaum said she will open separate bank accounts at Bank of Marion, including one designated for a $4.00 capital improvement fee collected with each water/sewer bill, to demonstrate enterprise-style accounting for the utility and to improve eligibility for grant funding. Council members noted the purchases and timing will be discussed further during the public hearing and subsequent budget adoption.
