At the May 27 work session, Town Manager Cecile Rosenbaum presented several revenue and administrative changes intended to boost collections and reduce net costs. She proposed increasing the meals tax by one cent (from 6% to 7%), estimated to bring roughly $5,000 in additional revenue, and instituting a 2.25% charge on credit card transactions to offset processing fees.
Rosenbaum also outlined plans to implement the DMV Stop Program for delinquent vehicle taxes and introduced a new Wellness Center lease revenue line estimated at $12,000 annually as contributors to balancing the budget. Council will consider these at the upcoming public hearing.
