Committee forwards $22,684.83 Fuelmaster fueling system purchase to council

The Maquoketa Public Works Committee voted May 11 to send a $22,684.83 purchase of a Fuelmaster fueling system from OEC, Inc. to the full City Council for approval.
Josh Boldt said the system will track which vehicle is used and allocate fuel costs to the correct department, improving accuracy and reducing staff time spent manually coding transactions. Chair Mark Lyon asked whether there were ongoing fees; Jon Hopson replied, “yes, there is an annual fee of about $1000.00 for the cloud and upkeep services.” Committee member Josh Collister moved and Lyon seconded forwarding the purchase; the motion carried 2-0.
If the Council approves the purchase, staff said the system will be used to track Police and Public Works fuel usage and to post purchases directly to departmental accounts.
