Elkton parks announces summer events, Friendship Table program for adults with disabilities

Elkton’s Parks & Recreation committee outlined a summer calendar that includes Movie Night on June 19 (in partnership with First Baptist Church), additional movie nights July 24 and Aug. 21, a line dancing event on June 22, and the Push, Pedal, Pull Parade on July 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Organizers thanked EPIC, the Ruritans and RanMar for event support and noted Nichols Lawncare will plant redbud trees along Spotswood Trail under a Central Shenandoah Planning Commission grant.
EACC Manager Heather Kite described the Friendship Table program, designed to support adults with disabilities who have aged out of other programs and assist their families. Kite said the center’s 24/7 membership stands at 166, calling the program "a testament to the team's dedication and commitment."
