Elkton reports progress on Jackson Avenue waterline, water tower contract executed

Public Utilities leaders told the Elkton Town Council on June 15 that installation of a water line on Jackson Avenue is progressing and is expected to reach the end of the current segment in about one week. After the main line is in place the contractor will begin connecting service lines to local businesses, and work will then transition to Route 340 at the Post Office.
Council members also recorded that the water tower contract has been executed but construction has not yet commenced; the contractor remains within the 12‑month performance period specified in the contract. Public Works additionally plans to excavate footers at the boat landing park for a shelter that is fully funded by the EDRC and will be provided at no cost to the Town.
