Volunteer organizes Oct. 11 pickleball fundraiser to benefit village park

Kendall said he has run two successful United Way tournaments at the New Philadelphia courts and has contacted about 20 potential sponsors for the Strasburg event; prizes will be gift cards to local businesses and the tournament T-shirt will list sponsors.
Rosenberry said the village is coordinating logistics including food trucks and lighting work for the pickleball courts; Press Representative Barb Limbacher will meet with Kendall to produce an article in the Bargain Hunter to promote the event. The minutes also note related park improvements such as ongoing fence installation at the soccer-field parking lot and an estimated $1,300 to run electric to the visitors press box.
Organizers did not provide a final sponsor list or budget in the minutes; residents interested in attending or sponsoring were directed to coordinate with event organizers or the press representative.
