Administrator says sewer-rate increase was recommended to fund WWTP expansion

At the Aug. 5 meeting Village Administrator Mike Rosenberry reported that RCAP (Rural Community Assistance Program) suggested raising sewer rates to help obtain funding for a planned wastewater treatment plant expansion. Rosenberry said the village is pursuing grant opportunities — meeting with OMEGA on Aug. 6 and with GPD on Aug. 13 about TAP Grant requirements — and that Legal Counsel Terry Seeberger will prepare a resolution to address the recommendation.
Rosenberry outlined related steps including grant outreach and technical meetings; he also noted staff will pursue potential grant support through the Reeves and Rosenberry Foundations for the multipurpose building. No formal rate change was approved at the meeting; staff and council signaled further work and legal drafting would follow before any rate-setting vote.
