Police Chief Randy Haugh told the council he received two applications for crossing guards and recommended hiring returning crossing guards Patty Gerber and Donna Reiger for the 2025–26 school year; Legal Counsel Terry Seeberger will prepare a resolution for the Aug. 5 council meeting to formalize the hires.
Chief Haugh also reported that he is updating the village’s soliciting permit application to align with the newly adopted soliciting ordinance, that an individual sleeping in the park has been trespassed and will be arrested if found again, and that officers are collecting information on electric bikes and scooters after stopping an illegal side-by-side vehicle.
