Council holds executive session, reconvenes and records no action on bargaining or employment

On Aug. 5 the Bristow City Council entered executive session under 25 O.S. §307(B)(2) and §307(B)(1) to discuss collective bargaining with IAFF Local No. 3613 and FOP Local No. 145 and to consider the employment of Ronny Capps as City Inspector. After reconvening the council approved a motion to take no action on the bargaining items or the employment matter, as recorded by roll call.
After the executive session, Mayor Kris Wyatt reported a notable decline in late water-bill notices compared with the previous year (569 in the prior year vs. 62 this month). Chief Conkling reported that the city would test sirens on Wednesday. City Inspector Ronny Capps told the council roughly 19 new homes have been built in Bristow this year and suggested the city consider separating the certified building-inspector role from code enforcement as growth continues.
