Evan James Deutsch, Chair of the Spofford Fire & Rescue Precinct Commissioners, said the board agreed to a spring yard cleanup proposal and asked for more detailed pricing for repairs around the Memorial site after a presentation from a landscape contractor.
Chris Stockwell of Ganio Land Management told the commissioners he could do a spring cleanup of the Fire Station yard for approximately $250 and offered to provide a written proposal for additional work on grass repairs and leveling at the Memorial. The commissioners approved moving forward with the spring cleanup and mowing; the minutes record the mowing rate as $100 per mowing.
The decision was made during the visitors portion of the April 16 meeting at the Spofford Fire Station. Commissioners requested the contractor submit a pricing proposal for any work beyond the base cleanup so the board can consider funding and scheduling for Memorial-site repairs.
