The Kenosha Finance Committee voted unanimously July 20 to levy a set of special charges totaling $38,511.09 on properties for a range of nuisance-abatement services. The clerk read the amounts into the record: “A, boarding and securing $538.30. B, trash and debris removal, $1,603.58. C, seagrass and weed cutting, $8,353.21. D, property maintenance reinspection fees, $24,062. E, building and zoning reinspection fees, $3,954.”
Chairperson Kurt Wilson opened the item for public hearing; no members of the public spoke. After a motion and second, the committee called for the vote and the measure passed 4–0. The committee did not request additional staff follow-up or modify the charges during the meeting.
