Council adopts first 2026 budget amendment, adds $35,000 for digital reader boards

Finance Director Kristen Reed presented Ordinance 2841, the city’s first budget amendment for 2026. Reed said she made small changes between the first and second readings, including adding $35,000 for two digital reader boards to be paid from the street fund and a one-time transfer split across funds to align the IT fund with policy.
Reed also noted that Fund 35 (the Facilities Fund) will be brought below the city’s reserve policy as a result of this amendment. Committee review recommended approval, and council moved, seconded and adopted the ordinance on second reading.
Reed remained available for questions during the presentation; council did not request additional reporting steps beyond the ordinary budget process.
