Resident warns conversion of Moose Lodge to event venue could repeat past neighborhood noise problems

A resident identified by the mayor as Malinaro spoke about a proposal to convert the former Moose Lodge into either a nightclub or event center. He said similar uses at the VFW previously led to complaints as neighborhoods were developed and warned that the new venue "literally in a neighborhood serving alcohol to the general public" could produce repeated complaints and police calls.
Malinaro pointed council members to the municipal noise-control code, advising them to "go into your municipal code under noise control, chapter 8" and consider the psychological and well-being effects of constant noise described in that text. He said he will return if the issue continues and urged the council to anticipate neighborhood impacts from alcohol-serving event venues.
