Consultants to return with economic opportunities analysis and code-audit recommendations; August meeting targeted

At the end of the meeting, MIG and Johnson Economics summarized next steps for the project: finalize the buildable lands inventory and the housing needs allocation memo, complete an economic opportunities analysis for employment land, and work with city staff on development-code updates that could increase in-UGB capacity.
"So our study area is the city's current urban growth boundary...we'll be conducting an economic opportunities analysis which looks at employment projections and land for employment," Andrew Parrish said. The consultants suggested a follow-up meeting in mid-August to present the draft economic opportunities analysis and discuss potential land-use efficiency measures, and staff said they would confirm a date. Consultants also said they will coordinate with city staff to invite relevant agencies (including, potentially, the Department of Forestry) to advise on wildfire and other hazard criteria before any UGB expansion work proceeds.
The committee did not take formal action but directed staff and consultants to continue the technical work and return with a draft EOA and recommendations for any zoning or code changes that could increase capacity inside the UGB.
