The Chair reported the county received a DEP mosquito surveillance summary documenting the number and locations of samples collected in 2025. "It outlines the number of samples and where in the county they were taken that included mosquitoes positive for West Nile virus because there were 11," the Chair said.
Commissioner added that the highest prevalence was in Ingmarrow and that sampling occurred in July, August and September. Officials said the county has education opportunities and the full surveillance report is available in the county office for those who want to review specific sampling locations and dates.
There was no further action at the meeting beyond placing the report on the county record and offering the document for public review.
