Chair reported a recent $400,000 deposit into the county general fund and said the county only needed to draw $100,000 from reserves to cover a shortfall. "We received $400,000 into the general fund ... we managed to only have to dip into a 100,000 of our reserves to cover the shortfall," the Chair said.
The Chair also read the treasurers numbers for the month of October: "The treasurer's report expenses for the month of October totaled a $161,188.77." The chair said the proposed budget will be available online for public review next Wednesday and that a special meeting is scheduled for Dec. 30 to adopt the budget, ensuring a 30-day public-comment period before adoption.
Commissioners thanked receivables and payables staff for navigating vendor payments and prioritizing wages and utilities during a tight period. No additional county appropriations were approved during the meeting; commissioners directed staff to post the budget and accept public comments ahead of the adoption meeting.
