Commissioner David reported that planning passed a motion requesting the county commission consider a one-year moratorium on approval and construction of data centers in Troublesdale County.
"One of the things that did come out of planning was a request for a one year moratorium on the approval and building of data centers in Troublesdale County," David said, noting planning lacks the authority to enact such a moratorium and is asking the commission to take it up.
Chair confirmed the item will be brought forward to the commission for future consideration. No hearing or ordinance text was presented at the work session; staff flagged the item for future agenda placement so the commission can evaluate the request and any potential implications for zoning, permitting and economic development.
