Dolores County approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) to complete child-care case reviews for La Plata and San Juan Counties, with an agreed rate of $55 per hour.
Staff (speaker 2) told commissioners the $55-per-hour rate was comparable to peer arrangements and that the county would act as a 3rd-party reviewer while adhering to state regulations. "We ended up deciding on a $55 an hour, review amount," the staff member said, noting the work would be manageable within existing capacity and could bring some revenue into social-services funds.
The county will provide supervision and remain subject to state child-care regulations; staff noted that any findings would be reported back to the originating county and Dolores County would not be held responsible for authorization decisions made by the state. Commissioners voted to authorize the IGA and asked staff to send finalized contracts once signed.
