Council backs applying for $155,000 GETDF grant to match DCNR pool/pavilion funding

Community and economic development staff told council the borough has $155,000 available from the Gaming and Economic Development Tourism Fund (GETDF) to serve as a match for a DCNR grant to fund pool slide and pavilion improvements. "We are currently have, a $155,000 from that fund, to help match the pool work that we with the money that we got from DCNR," staff said when outlining the recommendation to apply.
Staff recommended moving forward quickly because the GETDF deadline is Aug. 14. Council asked whether regional COG (Char-West) routing was required for the application; staff said the borough would provide most application documents and can upload the resolution if needed, and that any required resolution could be passed at the Aug. 13 meeting. Council gave a head nod to proceed with the application and staff will submit paperwork to the COG/county as appropriate.
