Board approves cleanup and mulching at site '33'; engineer notes wetland

The board approved a proposal for additional cleanup at the location identified as '33', including perimeter cleanup, removal of dead trees and mulching, on a motion by Mr. Walsh that carried unanimously. Mr. Adams said the invoice will be paid upon completion; Ms. Vaughan had requested the proposal and emphasized the need to clear the area from the wall to the white stakes, which the board confirmed is CDD property.
District Engineer Kurt Heath told the board there is a natural wetland in the center of the area and a separate excavated retention area on the western side; he recommended optional cleanup with weed whackers on the dry retention slope, noting it would not impede drainage. Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz said wood chips are free and additional mulching is planned for early spring. The board also noted native grasses at Hole 2 are dwindling and instructed Mr. Gatz to inspect and advise on replacement options.
