Supervisor: Hurley pursuing NY permit and grant for solar speed signs; vendor offered equipment value

The supervisor told the board that state permits are required before the town can deploy solar speed signs under an existing grant, and that the grant administrator needs proof of those permits. "We need to get a permit from New York State... and Dazni, which is overseeing the grant itself, needs those permits," the supervisor said.
The supervisor said he prefers fixed solar pole units rather than the trailer-mounted signs and noted the town could obtain four fixed units instead of multiple trailers. He also reported that a vendor, All Traffic Solutions, has offered about $100,000 worth of speed-sign equipment (and mentioned potential cloud-service costs). Board members discussed community engagement about sign siting and said the board will return after collecting more input and permit documentation.
No vote was taken; staff will proceed with permit applications and community outreach.
