Pend Oreille County Commissioner Brian Smiley updated the council on a developing Transportation Benefit District (TBD) and said the newly developing board "will need to have a person from each town present." He said the TBD will meet quarterly at first and then annually.
Smiley also announced the county hired a new public‑works director and briefed the council on a rockslide on Sullivan Lake Road, which prompted a temporary closure of about 12 hours and could take as long as three days to remove debris, according to his remarks to the council.
