Cloud Lake clerk announces flood-risk workshop, FDOT wrong-way detection project and airport noise-monitoring meeting

Town Clerk Dorothy Gravelin told the council Feb. 12 that a Multi-Jurisdictional Flooding and Sea Level Rise Risk Assessment draft-report workshop with Cloud Lake and Glen Ridge will be held Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall; notice is posted on the town website and refreshments will be provided.
Gravelin also summarized an FDOT proposal for an Advanced Wrong Way Driving Detection Project covering several I-95 interchange exit ramps; she said the one-year project will cost "about $1.5 million" and will use flashing DO NOT ENTER signs that alert the Regional Transportation Management Center. The clerk said a public information workshop will be scheduled prior to the project's start in fall 2026.
Finally, the clerk reminded the council that the Citizens Committee on Airport Noise will meet next Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the PBIA Department of Airports office to consider locations for additional noise monitors and a new flight-tracking dashboard, citing added monitors due to Presidential flight restrictions.
