Gary Coleman addressed the council about recurring fireworks problems and said pyrotechnics landed on his new restaurant's LVL and PTO membrane, which he said "destroyed it." He reported the fireworks also caused the stain to "pop off" concrete surfaces and said he cannot afford repeated repairs.
Coleman asked the council to consider banning fireworks within city limits to prevent further damage. Mayor Randall Sasser said the council and staff will investigate options and discuss the matter at a future council meeting; no ordinance or vote was taken at this meeting.
