The Budget & Finance Committee unanimously approved a cooperative endeavor agreement waiving fees for the Barry P. Bonvolence Civic Center for the 4th annual HeroFest, scheduled for September 2026.
Representatives of local first‑responder groups thanked the council for the continued support. "We've had a successful three years," a representative said, adding the group has provided more than $100,000 in local assistance, including rapid help after fires and for families of fallen first responders. The festival’s organizers described HeroFest as a platform for nonprofits and first responders to raise funds and connect with the community.
Council members asked about the dollar value of waived fees and how funds raised are used; the event leaders said funds remain in Terrebonne Parish and go directly to families and first responders in need. The resolution passed 9–0.
What’s next: The cooperative‑endeavor agreement will be executed and the Civic Center will host the event; organizers will provide additional operational details to administration.
