Monroe Township Council adopted Resolution 235-2026 on July 22, 2026, authorizing a closed executive session to discuss matters falling under pending and anticipated litigation pursuant to NJSA 10:4-12(b)(7). The motion was made, seconded and the council voted to go into closed session.
After the closed session the meeting returned to public view and the chair stated, "No action was taken this evening." The council had indicated before recessing that it would reopen and advise the public if any formal action was taken during the executive session. The resolution and its invocation of NJSA 10:4-12(b)(7) were taken under the ordinance and state statute cited at the meeting.
