Police report normal; LCFD5 plans recruit graduations and orders new engine

Chief of Police John Brockmueller told the council that operations are normal and submitted a written report. Sandra White, representing Lewis County Fire District 5, said six volunteer recruits are expected to finish academy training within about 30 days and that the district anticipates five additional volunteers beginning June 1 plus one experienced volunteer. White reported the district expects to begin accepting applications for the chief position in June, anticipates a station move-in toward the end of May, and said a new fire engine has been ordered at a price of about $1.25 million with an expected 24–30 month delivery timeframe.
