Maria Turner, director of community development for Lake County, opened the meeting by summarizing the Lakeport responses to the Lake County 2050 second survey: “There were 51. That's a pretty good showing for Lakeport for this planning area.”
Turner said survey respondents skewed older (50+) and largely white, and staff is arranging targeted outreach — including a Spanish-language stakeholders meeting and tribal outreach — to broaden participation. She told members the survey showed strong support for mixed-use development in commercial zones and surprising interest in youth agriculture and wilderness education as priorities for the local area plan.
