A member of the public, Jeff Blakely, told the council there is “a pothole starting to form on Hot Springs Way under the railroad bridge where the pavement was recently redone,” raising concern that the repaired surface could revert to its prior condition within a few years. That public comment framed subsequent council discussion about project performance and accountability.
Council later approved a separate motion to receive an accounting history for the TIB pavement repair (motion by Joshua Good, seconded by Travis Randall), directing staff to provide financial and project records tied to the Transportation Improvement Board-funded work. The council did not accept the final project as complete, leaving liability and warranty follow-up as outstanding items.
The vote on final acceptance was recorded during the council’s regular meeting; the council did not announce a follow-up timetable for staff to report back on warranty, contractor remediation, or repair options.
