The commission approved the consent calendar after adding several items and then took votes on multiple budget amendments.
Among the finance items, commissioners approved an allocation of $100,000 for public health and welfare projects, passed a budget amendment providing $2,800 for the sheriff’s department, a $1,191.38 amendment for other facilities, and additional amendments for code compliance and the medical examiner (the latter for $5,000). The motions were presented by the finance committee and passed by roll call.
Commissioners also discussed attorney bills and pulled them for review before voting. One commissioner questioned a $24,000 attorney billing referenced from a prior month; staff clarified that the specific $24,000 was not on the present bill list and apologized for any confusion. After discussion and roll-call votes the items passed as presented.
