Staff expects bookmobile this summer; plans large welcome event
Summary

Staff told the panel the vendor has built the vehicle chassis and will complete the interior, and that the city expects to receive the bookmobile this summer.
"They've already built the chassis... we expect to see it this summer," the Presenter said, adding that an exact date is not yet known and that July is the team's current hope. The presenter noted that after Farber delivers the vehicle it must go to Fleet for required work before it can be released for public service.
Staff said a large public welcome event is planned once the vehicle is ready; the board of supervisors has expressed interest in participating and staff expects the city council will also want to be part of the event. No budget, contract amendments or firm event dates were set during the meeting.
Next steps identified on the record were for staff to send the approved artwork files to the vendor and to coordinate staging with Fleet and other partners ahead of the launch event.
