Library staff asked for board volunteers to serve on a five-person review panel that will evaluate artist proposals for a vinyl bookmobile wrap. The panel is expected to include a member of the Beautification Public Arts Commission (BPAC), a county liaison, a library board member and other community representatives; the tentative panel meeting date is Feb. 25 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Staff said the cost to apply the wrap on-site is included in the bookmobile price and that the city beautification program will pay the selected artist $4,000. Board members asked whether the wrap is physically applied to the vehicle (it is); staff described a 100-point scoring rubric (40 points originality/design aesthetic, 30 points fit for purpose, 30 points community representation). The board asked for volunteers to review submissions and staff will follow up with formal panel invitations and timeline details.
