City Administrator Angel Weasner told the council that Resolution #2024-170 authorizes Hubbard County to register cannabis microbusinesses, mezzobusinesses, retailers and related lower-potency hemp edible retailers within the City of Park Rapids and to perform compliance checks on businesses registered by the county, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Section 342.22.
Councilmember Tim Little moved and the council unanimously approved the resolution. Weasner characterized the county process as comparable to the county’s tobacco licensing and said this action permits Hubbard County to administer registration and compliance checks locally rather than the city maintaining a separate county-level registration process.
