Commissioners hear that Archibald Park fund supports citywide park maintenance, not just Archibald Park
Summary
Staff clarified that the Archibald Park fund pays for maintenance of nearly all city parks (except Johns Pass Village), and commissioners questioned how about $577,000 in parking revenue fits against roughly $1.5M in total parks maintenance costs, requiring general-fund transfers.

Commissioners questioned the Archibald Park fund numbers after reviewing the budget presentation. One commissioner said the $577,000 in parking revenue for Archibald Park did not match the roughly $1.5 million in total park maintenance costs, and asked for clarification about what the fund covers.
Meghan (speaker 11), a city staffer, explained that Archibald Park fund coverage is broader than a single park and "covers the maintenance of every park except for Johns Pass Village," noting it funds tree trimming, Gulf Boulevard maintenance and other citywide park spending. Andrew agreed and said that while Archibald-related parking revenues are the primary revenue source for the fund, the general fund and transfers will continue to support the total maintenance workload.
