CDD approves $1,475 emergency street sweeping and praises post-hurricane cleanup

River Ridge supervisors approved a one-time Precision Cleaning, Inc. street-sweeping contract for storm clean-up for $1,475 and authorized additional weekly cleanings as needed; staff and Premier Lakes reported eight loads of debris were removed after recent hurricanes.
Chair Bob Schultz reported that post-hurricane debris removal by district staff and Premier Lakes was handled quickly and efficiently and presented a Precision Cleaning, Inc. proposal for emergency street sweeping. Staff reported the vendor completed eight passes and removed eight loads of debris.
On motion by Mr. Blumenthal and seconded by Mr. Mountford, the board approved the one-time emergency street-sweeping service for $1,475 and authorized staff to add additional week-to-week cleanings for the next month if necessary. Mr. Willis said the regular street-sweeping contract begins the first week of November and that Mr. Long will advise weekly if extra cleanings are needed.
The board also discussed speed-sign deployment and maintenance scheduling as part of storm and post-storm operations; three permanent speed signs are installed and one is mobile, and training on the ticketing/computer system is underway.
