Resident asks city for data center plan, raises questions about taxes, utilities and noise monitoring

During visitor comments, Phyllis Wolf of 800 Wilshire asked the commission whether the city has a plan for data centers and said she was concerned about site selection, nondisclosure agreements and community monitoring. "I'm very concerned about this ... should we do a more moratorium until we have a plan?" she asked, adding questions about the benefits to the community and whether tax incentives ultimately cost residents.
Wolf also asked what mechanisms will be available for monitoring impacts such as utility use and noise once a facility is in the community, and said citizens should have input into decisions that can affect housing and local land use. City staff replied that the city has not had data centers progress through the pipeline and that any proposal would require several steps involving the commission.
