So now that contribution is $365,000, for fiscal 27." City manager Andrew Cook said the draft shows "a roughly $340,000 loss, from revenue to expenses in the general fund," reflecting storm impacts and other adjustments. Staff also described a South Lakeview streets and sidewalk project budgeted at $1,500,000 and a 69 kV relay replacement project estimated at $85,000 under electric capital work.
The staff presentation included corrections to vehicle pricing and changes to fee schedules; an all‑terrain vehicle line was adjusted to $52,000 from an earlier higher figure. Cook and Sadie said the electric center construction costs will be split across fiscal years 2027 and 2028 and noted ambulance staffing adjustments following the hospital closure. Commissioners discussed a potential ambulance special assessment millage of roughly 1–2 mills and asked staff to continue gathering information.
The motion to set a public hearing for 06:00 on Aug. 12, 2026, passed on a voice vote with unanimous support.
