Board discusses draft social-media policy, refers drafting to August work session

Chair said the board did not need in-meeting wordsmithing and recommended moving the item to a work session or committee for further drafting.
Board member Dina circulated a draft Pullman policy and board members expressed support for a tailored Pullman approach while noting free-speech considerations. "I really appreciate the work that was put into this... I think it's really nice to see so many different options at once," Lisa said. Risa cautioned about inadvertently limiting speech and recommended coordinating a streamlined social-media policy with a broader annual communication plan. The board agreed to start the drafting process at the August 3 work session and to use WASDA ethical-conduct guidance and Dina’s draft as starting points; the item will move to policy-committee review as needed.
