Board approves resolution to cancel three outstanding warrants and transfer funds to unclaimed property

Finance Director Dandy Linus explained that state law requires the board to adopt a resolution canceling outstanding warrants so the funds can be transferred to unclaimed property. "We have 3 warrants tonight that we're asking to cancel... These actually get turned over to unclaimed property," Dandy said, explaining the administrative process and the RCW basis for the action.
The board moved Resolution 25-26-08 to an action item and then voted to approve it. A board member moved approval and another seconded; the motion carried on a voice vote (ayes). Dandy told the board that individuals named on the warrants can request the funds through the state unclaimed-property process.
