Ryan presented the district’s 2026–27 assessment plan required under board policy 2090, describing the suite of assessments (MAP, DIBELS, AP, SBA) and noting some dates can shift for operational reasons (for example, a past SBA window was moved because of a conflict). He told the board that interim assessments will be available in September and that schools determine interim timing through PLCs.
Ryan asked the board to note a typographical error the staff found in the draft WA-AIM schedule — a date listed as "01/02/1965" that will be corrected to the appropriate January date prior to final approval — and confirmed families can opt students out of assessments by submitting the district opt-out form. Board members asked about the timing of score releases and Ryan said final scores came in early July and that staff will confirm the distribution schedule through Parent Square. The board did not vote on the final plan at this meeting; Ryan indicated the corrected plan will return for approval.
